Premika Movie Review
Young and talented actor Tanish is currently coming up for an interesting film Premika. The film also stars Shruti Yugal as the female lead. Tanish who failed to make an impressive mark with the film Nakshatram has come up with a solo film at the box office and check out the review of the film here.
The film tells the tale of a politically influential person Devaraj who does all the illegal activities. Krishna (Tanish) is a happy-go-lucky guy who falls in love with Thulasi (Shruti Yugal). Thulasi’s father who comes to know about this puts a condition to Krishna which results in him confronting Devaraj. What happens then and how did this turn Krishna’s life upside down forms the story of the movie.
Tanish who has played the role, Krishna, impressed everyone with his performance but the characterisation given to him was completely routine. The lover boy image did not suit him well and the makers could have tried a better characterisation which could have been impressive. The female lead Sruthi is okay in the role she played and made justice for it. Ravi Varma has played a full-length Antagonist in the film for the first time in his career and has made a big impression in a positive way. The other actors like getup Seenu, Jabardasth Mahesh, Bank Suresh, Surya, Kavitha, Koteswara Rao and others are okay in their roles.
The film’s story is old-fashioned and so is the screenplay. There is a list of emotional drama in the movie which is actually a must for a project like this. The film also lacks naturality and gives an artificial feel. The commercial elements of the film were also not maintained properly and the quality produced is just average. The music from Dileep Bhandari is okay to some extent but he has impressed with the background score. The Cinematography by Rahul is good and the editing by Praveen Pudi is also nice.
The major plus point of the movie is the performances from the lead actors. Even though the film lacks proper characterisation every one of them has tried their best to come up with an engaging movie. The dialogues were okay to some extent and they are apt for the subject like these but the direction is completely weak. The lack of noted faces is also another drawback for the movie. On a whole, the film fails to impress and ends as a disaster at the box office.
