Mindhunter has been officially renewed for season-2

Netflix an American entertainment company streaming service has commissioned a second season of Mindhunter. The series was created by Joe Penhall, based on the true crime book ‘Mindhunter’. This crime drama has a strong background, with Oscar nominated director Daviid Fincher and the actress Charlize Theron who is also an Oscar winner along with some shows executive producers.

Mindhunter is set in 1977, which shows the efforts of Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI). The whole series runs in catching a criminal who often requires the authorities to get inside the villain’s mind to figure out the way he thinks. They understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. Apart from that the agents pioneer the development of technology in the serial killer profiling.

Agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) and psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) to create psychological profiles of imprisoned serial killers to understand actually how their minds work. The show has been critically acclaimed, with praise reserved for its character development and period design.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Fincher hinted that one of the episodes in the second season will focus a serial killer who blinded and killed children in Atlanta between 1979 and 1981.

Netflix officially confirmed a second season on November 30, but without any confirmation of a release date. Director and executive producer David Fincher recently talked about the show in terms of “next year”, implying he said that he would be filming in 2018, which would further imply that the second season would drop towards the end of the year, much like season one.

David Fincher in an interview said after the series had made its debut, and revealed the script written for season-2 which weren’t good and the team were going back to the drawing board. Netflix is probably a long way from divulging the Mindhunter season-2 release date, but hopefully it will arrive before the end of 2018.
