Dangal Actress Zaira Wasim Filed FIR Against Unknown Person


Zaira Wasim is a young Bollywood actress of 17 years old. She acted in women oriented films like “Dangal” and “Secret Superstar”.  While Zara was on Air Vistara flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai, she was assaulted by the co-passenger sitting behind her. The passenger put up his feet on her armrest, the moment she objected that man, he reportedly claimed he was resting his feet due to “turbulence” and  while she was asleep he keep on caressing her neck , later she tried to record the harassment when she felt his hand, but couldn’t as the lights were dim.

Recently her post in social media got viral on Sunday. She shared her feelings on Instagram live video, that she subjected  to sexual harassment on a Mumbai-bound flight, while travelling from Delhi to Mumbai following which the Civil Aviation Ministry and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have sought details from Air Vistara. Zaira also expressed her disappointment at Vistara’s cabin crew department, saying that they failed to help her.

She said in her video immediately after deboarding from flight that she was disturbed. She also asked, Is this the way that how the society is going to take care of girls? She said fighting her tears, “This is not the way anybody should be made to feel, this is terrible!” Along with the video, the actor also shared some screenshots of the recording that she managed to make.

Vistara COO Sanjiv Kapoor also tweeted, saying the company had zero tolerance towards “this kind of thing”. Vistara issued a statement stating that it was carrying a “detailed investigation” and expressed support for Zaira.

A source in Vistara told CNN-News18 that Zaira “yelled” mid flight, but the cabin crew couldn’t help since the aircraft had begun its descent. Zaira started yelling at him as the flight was descending. The crew could not come forward at that point of time because the flight was landing and everyone was buckled up. After the flight landed, the crew even asked her mother whether she wanted to file a complaint to which they said no and rushed out of the flight.”

When Zaira’s manager Tuhin Mishra spoke to CNN said, that this was really shocking and tha cabin crew didn’t react properly.  They wrote to Vistara and lodged a police complaint. Later a police officer arrived at the hotel where Zaira is staying. He took a statement over allegations of molestation attempt. Later, an FIR was registered at Sahar Police Station against unknown person under Section 354 of the IPC and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

Sanjiv Kapoor, the CSCO of Vistara said that they are verifying the reports regarding ZairaWasimm experience with another customer on board our flight that happened last night. They are investigating fully and will support her in every possible way. He said that they have zero tolerance for this kind of things.

Omar Abdullah the former CM of J&K tweeted in his twitter account that the passenger is to be identified by the police and case a file for legal action. None of this “he fell at my feet so I forgive him” rubbish! He should be identified and action to be taken against him.

Weighing in on the incident, NCW chief Rekha Sharma questioned why the co-passengers and cabin crew didn’t come to the actor’s rescue. “It is a horrible incident. Women are not safe anywhere. Co-passengers not reacting is the worst. Why didn’t the crew help? I am going to take action against Vistara.”
