Happy-Birthday-SRK

Many do not know the meaning of Shahrukh. It clearly means king like face. Probably, SRK’s parents might have never known the fact that their son would end up becoming the king of Bollywood one fine day. Shahrukh belonged to a humble family of four and was brought up in the bylanes of Delhi. Post his higher studies, his interest drew towards theater and this is how he made his entry into television.

Even his television entry was a rage as the serial Fauji ended up as the most watched only because of SRK’s histrionics. Things did not stop here as SRK’s made the big leap and landed in the big bad world of Bollywood. The twist in the tale was that he was already married by then. The struggle had already started and he went around all the offices in Mumbai with his portfolio only until he was noticed by actress Hema Malini and she offered him his first film.

But for several reasons, even that film did not take off and SRK had to settle for a second hero role in a film called Deewana. The film released to some massive reviews and SRK’s crazy one-sided love act hit the audience big time. Every one was eager to see how this TV boy has made it on his own in Bollywood and shine in a film which has then superstar Rishi Kapoor.

Things took a U-turn when SRK signed Abbas Mustan’s Baazigar. He played the negative role for the first time and the film ended up becoming a rage and announced the arrival of SRK in Bollywood. He changed the path for the leading stars by making anti-hero look cool in films like Baazigar, Darr, and Anjaam.

This was also the time when Yash Raj Film was growing big and they set eyes on this SRK for their lead role in Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge. The film was such a hit that it is playing even now in a theater in Mumbai. Post this film, SRK was the blue-eyed boy of Bollywood. With DDDLJ, Shah Rukh Khan forayed into the unexplored territory of the NRI audience opening the floodgates for Indians living away.

This is where SRK became the king of Bollywood and with films like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, ‘Swades’, Kal Ho Na Ho, My Name is Khan and more, were stories about people living abroad which worked big time and made him a star on par with the likes of Tom Cruise and others.

Also, SRK rose with each film and was pushing away every other Khan in the industry with hits after hits. SRK has been a graceful star who stayed away from cheap controversies and scandals. The actor has had unique ability to shut his opponents with smart comebacks. Also, the secret behind his success is that he enjoys adulation from all age groups. The family audience who watch his movies not just appreciate his acting but also swear by his ‘family man’ tag.

SRK is one actor who was famous for his acting capabilities. No one could romance like he did and all his roles were different from each other like the one in Chakde where he won the best actor Filmfare Award. With such hits in his kitty and the newfound tag of Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan stepped into the Ad field and captured it like no one before. Right from toothpaste to a luxurious car, he endorses it all.

With such huge earnings, SRK made to the Forbes richest list many times. He is the most love star in Bollywood today and has erected his own empire with huge earnings to his credit. SRK is not just a name but a brand now. Off late, his films may not give that needed success but his brand value or market capacity has not decreased one bit which clearly shows and proves that he is indeed the king of Bollywood.
