Berlin Film Festival -2018 is to open with  “Isle of Dogs’

Here comes the most awaiting event the Berlin Film Festival. This has recently announced that it is going to be opened with the world’s premiere movie of Wes Anderson. The movie is “Isle of Dogs”. This is going to happen on February 15th of 2018. This film marks Anderson’s third trip to Berlin’s competition section. Along with Anderson’s film there are “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. This “The Grand Budaspet Hotel” opened the 64th Berlin Film Festival in the year2014. This has won the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize

In 2018, the film festival is going to be opened with “Isle of Dogs”, it is the first animated movie to open in the whole history of 68 years. The film is set in Megasaki City after a decree from Mayor Kobayashi expels all canines to an island garbage-dump. A 12-year old boy named Atari Kobayashi flies to “Trash Island”.  He flies in search of his bodyguard dog Spots, and so begins an epic journey that will decide the fate of the entire city.

The voice in this movie is casted with Anderson’s regular collaborators like Edward Norton, Bob Balaban, Jeff Goldblum, Tilda Swinton, and Bill Murray. There are some new comers like Bryan Cranston, Courtney B. Vance, Yoko Ono, Greta Gerwig, and Scarlett Johansson, among many others.

The Film festival director Kosslick said in a official statement, that he is most delighted that Anderson will start the show with Berlinale competition again.  He also shared his views about the movie. The movie ‘Isle of Dogs’ is the first animated film to open the festival. He says that the film will capture the audiences’ hearts with its charm as it is designed in that way by Wes Anderson.
